I want to be somebody. I want my life to have meaning. I want my life to be useful. There are so many of us in the world, and it’s only a handful that change it, shape it, reform it. What will it take to be one of those people? The right place at the right time? A lifelong struggle? An empire? Whatever it is, I want to do it, I want to know. Because I don’t want my life to end with me thinking that all I did was pass a family name, maybe bought a house somewhere, worked most of my life and spent the rest of it in a retirement home. That idea might seem alright to some, after all, what’s so bad about falling in love and raising a family? The truth is that it isn’t a bad idea. It sounds like an alright life.
But I don’t want an alright life. I want a great life; I want a world changing life.
People say that to change the world, we need revolution. I think they’re wrong. What we need is evolution. We need to head on to the next steps. Revolution is the invention of the car, evolution is finding a way it won’t harm us. Revolution is a war on oppressors. Evolution is doing it the right way. Revolution is the freedom of slaves. Evolution is making sure they’re free all over the world.
I want more than a simple life. I want more than happiness, I want more than good job. How I plan on doing this is still in question, but I’m not worried. Even Jesus wasn’t ALWAYS somebody…
